AIRINC
ARINC was incorporated in 1929 as Aeronautical Radio, Incorporated. It was chartered by the federal government to serve as the airline industry's single licensee and coordinator of radio communication outside of the government. The corporation's stock was held by four major airlines of the day. Through most of its history, ARINC has been owned by airlines and aviation industry interests.

SAN FRANCISCO RADIO
The ARINC SFO Communications Center is located 25 miles from the Oakland ARTCC. SFO provides HF/VHF communications for aircraft operating in the Oakland ARTCC (ZOA). In addition, SFO provides additional communication services to aircraft operating in the Anchorage ARTCC, Honolulu Control Facility (HCF) and Guam Center Radar Approach Control (CERAP) areas.
